Are you green with envy yet?

I did Sophie and Tertiary Jane’s green chips today. I swapped out the stock green RBL chips for new pairs (Apple and Olive Drab).

You ready for this?

S: You ready for this?
TJ: Hold my hand?
S: Okay. =)

Taped up and glued

TJ: Ugh. Why are my eyes itching?
Me: Hold still, sweetie, I’m almost done…

I'm blind, woman!

TJ: $@&$(#*@(!(! I CAN’T SEE! I’M BLIND! WOMAN, DO YOU HEAR ME? I’M $@!$ING BLIND!
Me: Tertiary Jane, calm down! I’m almost done! I promise! It doesn’t even hurt.
TJ: $@!@#%%%#! Let’s see someone pull out your *brown eye chips* and see if that hurts!

I didn’t have to heart to explain to her that there’s a reason why I don’t have a pullstring out the back of my head…

New chips. Hello, pretty girl.

Tertiary Jane is rocking with her new left-facing Apple eyechips (R30 Brainworm).

Looking a little drab today.

Sophie is feeling a little bit under the weather, a little drabby, as she has new right-facing Olive Drab eyechips (R14 Brainworm).

New chippies =)

New eye chips!

Tertiary Jane was my first victim, lol. Only on side came out easily. The new chips are R9 Brainworm (Turquoise) and they got really well with her hair! These are in place of her stock blue RBL chips.

New eye chips!

Sophie got new eye chips in place of her stock blue RBL chips. The new ones are R12 Brainworm (Teal). The one on the right side gave me the *hardest* time ever coming out.

I used the ‘glue stick method’. I had my sister light a candle for me (because I’m hopeless with a lighter…) and I used the glue sticks that are used in hot glue guns. I heated up the end of the stick until it was shiny and then carefully pressed it against the chip that I wanted to remove. I used masking tape to hold their eyelashes out of the way, as well as tying their hair back with a hair tie. All of the eye chips took more than one try to remove. I used Aleene’s Tacky Glue (the original type, in the gold coloured bottle) to glue in the new chips. I’ve found on dolly forums that it’s recommended to leave them for 24 hours before trying to change their eyes (in case they decide to come loose and fall into their heads!).

Still musing about 365 and new finished projects

Yes, I’m still trying to decide which of the dolls to subject to photos every single day for a year. However, doing 365 would probably be wonderful motivation to finally get them some mini-converse shoes… But in the meantime, here are some new projects that I finished over the last week for the dolls.

Knitted blue top

Sophie is wearing a knitted 100% wool top made by me and stock skirt from Simply Peppermint (Tertiary Jane).

Knitted sack? Knitted dress?

Belarus, poor thing, is wearing a 100% acrylic knitted sweater dress made by me. It would probably look better with striped tights, or with boots.

Gnome Hat :)

Tertiary Jane is wearing her Simply Peppermint stock (shirt and bubble skirt) as well as a crocheted baby pink gnome/pixie hat.

I have a name!

Formerly known as the Simply Peppermint that had no name… SPthNN would like to make a little announcement!

SPthNN: I have a name! My name is Tertiary Jane. That’s Tert-eeeee-air-eeeeee Jane.

[Side Note: It's tertiary for the tertiary protein structure/folding and tertiary for tertiary functional group on a carbon in organic chemistry, not for the time period or anything else. And Jane because it just... clicked when I said it out loud and looked at her. I honesty expected her to end up with a really cutesy girly name because of her hair colour and the fact that she came out of a box with a cute little sleeveless black shirt and an adorable bubble skirt with polka dots and those fabulous squishy black boots. I expected her to be a girly girl and get along awesomely with Sophie, who is the resident girly girl as of this moment. Instead, she's a bit more like Belarus, but with less of the attitude. Tertiary Jane is totally my little geek girl.]
