I did Sophie and Tertiary Jane’s green chips today. I swapped out the stock green RBL chips for new pairs (Apple and Olive Drab).

You ready for this?

S: You ready for this?
TJ: Hold my hand?
S: Okay. =)

Taped up and glued

TJ: Ugh. Why are my eyes itching?
Me: Hold still, sweetie, I’m almost done…

I'm blind, woman!

TJ: $@&$(#*@(!(! I CAN’T SEE! I’M BLIND! WOMAN, DO YOU HEAR ME? I’M $@!$ING BLIND!
Me: Tertiary Jane, calm down! I’m almost done! I promise! It doesn’t even hurt.
TJ: $@!@#%%%#! Let’s see someone pull out your *brown eye chips* and see if that hurts!

I didn’t have to heart to explain to her that there’s a reason why I don’t have a pullstring out the back of my head…

New chips. Hello, pretty girl.

Tertiary Jane is rocking with her new left-facing Apple eyechips (R30 Brainworm).

Looking a little drab today.

Sophie is feeling a little bit under the weather, a little drabby, as she has new right-facing Olive Drab eyechips (R14 Brainworm).

New chippies =)

New eye chips!

Tertiary Jane was my first victim, lol. Only on side came out easily. The new chips are R9 Brainworm (Turquoise) and they got really well with her hair! These are in place of her stock blue RBL chips.

New eye chips!

Sophie got new eye chips in place of her stock blue RBL chips. The new ones are R12 Brainworm (Teal). The one on the right side gave me the *hardest* time ever coming out.

I used the ‘glue stick method’. I had my sister light a candle for me (because I’m hopeless with a lighter…) and I used the glue sticks that are used in hot glue guns. I heated up the end of the stick until it was shiny and then carefully pressed it against the chip that I wanted to remove. I used masking tape to hold their eyelashes out of the way, as well as tying their hair back with a hair tie. All of the eye chips took more than one try to remove. I used Aleene’s Tacky Glue (the original type, in the gold coloured bottle) to glue in the new chips. I’ve found on dolly forums that it’s recommended to leave them for 24 hours before trying to change their eyes (in case they decide to come loose and fall into their heads!).

Pullrings and eyechips!

I got mail yesterday for the girls:

Pullrings and eye chips!

On the left side: black pullrings and strings, toffee, apple and turquoise eyechips for Belarus. (Toffee will complete her mini-me look.)

On the right side: kiwi jelly pullrings and strings, wheat, olive drab and teal eyechips for Sophie.

All I need is the nerve to actually change out their eyechips and to give them sleep eyes and a bit of gaze correction (so they can look *up* at me, rather than looking down when they’re standing up straight).

My order of Twiggy Twiggy pullrings (with matching strings) and Brainworm eyechips came from April of commonlycute.com! I placed my order on August 9 (Sunday night) and it was put into the mail the next day (Monday) and arrived within a week (Monday August 17th) from the east coast of USA to the west coast of Canada. Not bad, not bad at all.
